This is our preferred sushi place in Burbank. There's ample parking nearby, the food is good and fresh, udon included, and the service is generally attentive. Waaaay better than the Kabuki-mart around the corner.
Excellent food and even more the employees were very friendly and helpful. I got a lot for my money. I would go back again.
I tried Octopus Japanese Restaurant about 3 months ago and was very impressed with the food and service. So when it was time to celebrate my birthday, I wanted to go back. The food again was very good. However our server was extremely subpar. After...our food was brought to the table by another server, he vanished. He did not once check in on us to see how we were doing or needed anything....
Always a reliable place for good sushi. I got the Lychee Breeze drink and loved it! I would suggest going during happy hour which is 3-6pm weekdays for great deals. Brother in law and new wife enjoyed the place. Very easy going atmosphere with good...friendly service.

I used to visit this restaurant all the time when living in Burbank, and returned for the first time in 2 years now that I could finally get back during a holiday. The quality of the food, presentation and service were always good, but seemed...better than ever now. We absolutely loved our meal.
I went to Octopus August 7, 2020, in the evening and sat with my date on outdoor side patio. Problem: they told us we cannot use restrooms. They said all Burbank restaurants have this rule. (Not...
Since COVID/Safer-at-Home Orders have been in place, we've picked up from Octopus Japanese restaurant about 4 or 5 times! It's been our favorite place to order from for Japanese food. Every time...
I was randomly craving sushi and saw them on Ubereats. I decided to order their sushi platter which comes with a spicy tuna roll and 6 assorted nigiri. It took a very long time to come but I can...
Absolutely love this place! I've been going for years with my friends and am amazed every single time. Great prices and good food. We always ask for extra ginger and are given large bowls of them!...
Made it just in time for their happy hour! (Mon-Sat 3pm to 6pm or 9pm to close). I honestly felt a bit iffy dining inside during these COVID times, but they seem to do really well with safety...
our server Mike is very courteous and accommodating other than the food is great. Ambiance is great.
Very good place, best service
The place is great with so many waiters who are so fast and courteous! The sushi is better than Kabuki!
Great service and delicious fresh food. My 1st time. I'll be coming back.

Outstanding food, service and atmosphere. Highly recommend!
Very bright blue and pink restaurant. I went to Octopus for the first time because my friends planned a get together there. I ordered the Octopus Chef Special. It came with miso soup and salad...the only two things I enjoyed. The rest of the food,...the sashimi, the tuna hand roll, and sushi was not good, specially the tuna part of the sashimi. It was uneatable. As soon as I put the first...
Looking for dinner at 9pm and this was one of the few still serving. Good sushi and standard Japanese menu with bar
Great service. THANK YOU BILLY !!!
food was great! service was great! everything was just perfect!
I enjoy Octopus as a lunch stop or to go. It’s not too busy at lunch, so you can enjoy conversation with your colleagues.
Food is always great. Service is efficient.
There is limited street parking, but there is subterranean parking adjacent to the building.
Fast service! really good food!
This place was incredible. The food was so fresh and delicious AND the prices were unbelievably reasonable. A must go for sure!!
I eat here a few times a year and am always satisfied with the quality of the sushi, portions, and service.
The place is pretty busy for lunch and dinner, but if you go early, you can get a table.
Excellent atmosphere, nice staff, good sushi, reasonably priced. Not too crowded on Sunday afternoon.

I used to love this place. Went to lunch last Wednesday with a group of 6 for my birthday and it was horrible. I got the 2 item combo. It was tasteless, dry and just plain bad. What happened here? The chicken teriyaki tasted like...it was boiled yesterday's chicken and then the sauce just poured over the chicken, horrible. The soup cold, the salad had no dressing or it had so little it...
The food was so well prepared and the service was transparent. To those that have dined out with a large group, you know how important that is. It's nice to chat with the staff a little but we are there to share time with loved...ones and not have interruptions in our conversations with constant inquiries from the staff.
The food was very good and as always with good Sushi restaurants, a...
For all kinds of sushi, sashimi, teriyaki and a hip, sophisticated setting, this is a great spot in Burbank. Everything was freshly made, beautifully presented. The menu is just pages and pages with even a kiddie bentobox menu. Octopus has a full bar that is...very attractive and our favorites were "cardiac" sushi, scallops sushi, philadelphia, shrimp tempura, spicy tuna. This is a full...
We went for Happy Hour, and it was night and day from the regular hours. We ordered a sushi we had before with fried onion straws, but during happy hour they were just shaved red onion. We asked for garlic edemame (we always get it there as an appetizer) but when it didn't cone I asked the server and she said we didn't order it, then argued with us about it. Not cool! It seems to be hit and...
We live above the restaurant and it's our favorite place to dine out. I'm managing residential complex above the restaurant. They are very clean and responsive to any issues I had with them.
They always have a line of customers at dinner time. Their combo...menu can't beat anyone.
Great restaurant with great management.
my fave sushi place the food is excellent the staff are friendly and accomodating.. i love this place its always full esp on their happy hour but it is worth the wait cheers to the hardworking staff and great sushi!!!l
Hand down! Best Sushi in Burbank I really love the roll plates and their garlic edamame is too dam good lol. They have different beer selections and Sakes. Give it a try and you'll see what...
The food was exceptional but the service was terrible. The host was a complete nightmare. From the moment we got there she had an attitude. When we were told we had a 35 minute wait ahead of us me...
This was the best sushi I've ever had. I loved this place. It didn't get 5 stars because our server was MIA. She was not good at all.
This is one of my favorite Asian restaurants in Burbank. I always come here for lunch with my cowokers because of their good food and awesome lunch deals. I don't really order sushi here but lunch...
Nice environment and fresh sushi!!! I love coming here for reverse happy hour. By far the best pomegranate sake I've had.

The best place to eat sushi, fresh good food, good service, good location, and good price!
My favorite sushi. I've tried them all and by far the awesome, cool chefs at Octopus make me feel at home and the happy hour pricing is very fair. The fish is the freshest!
Food was so good! Everything was delicious. The food was also presented very well. Also, the staff were very nice. I would recommend this place and I am definitely coming back again.
Great sushi, and friendly staff, two evenings dining here are the only redeeming factors of a horrible weekend trip till L.A. if we're ever in the area again we will go back to Octopus.
Has this place for lunch and sat at the sushi bar and the sushi chef hooked it up with bigger slices and couple of chefs specials that he made for us. It was a delicious lunch and fed the tummy well. It avg out to be about $20pp including tip with all the nigiri and sushi to fill you up. Way better quality than a buffet and a lot tastier.
Sushi! They have great sushi. The offer the traditional sushi rolls like the dragon roll. They also have some rolls that I have not seen at other sushi places. Parking is available for in the couple of parking lots around.
The best sushi bar ever in burbank. The chefs are fast, friendly and skillful. Definitely my favourite spot in burbank.
Huge rolls, and a GREAT lunch special. (pick three items for around 11 dollars.) Service is prompt, and the space is pretty nice. I don't always like California rolls, but I think these are my favorite California rolls in Burbank. Get dinner here and catch a movie down the street!
There’s an awful lot of Beef and Chicken Teriyaki or Hibachi going on for a place that has “Octopus” in the name, and it’s stuff that frankly, you can get better at other local California chains, like Kabuki. There is seafood on the menu, there just doesn’t seem to be a whole hell of a lot of it…at least not for a place with “Octopus” in the name.

What Happened?. I haven't been to Octopus for some time, what went wrong? It used to be ok for the prices, inexpensive but acceptable; but my last lunch there was horrible..
Something must have changed because for some reason we were given no greeting and no goodbye. This is mandatory in a sushi place, so it feels like an insult when you leave and the chefs don't look up or bid you thanks. What are we to think? It leaves you
I went here with my sister a few time for some sushi and I thought their food & service was good. I would definitely recommend this place for a large party.
Octopus has great food. I love their salads and happy hour menu. Their reverse happy hour (8:30pm to close - 7 days a week) makes late night dining deliously inexpensive!! The service is expectional.

The place was pretty cool. Not too busy nor crowded,We just ordered a bunch of everything and I can honestly say there was nothing I didn't like. The sushi came out very quickly. Overall service was great ,I would come back to this place.
Pros
+ Value of sushi , Fast service
Cons

This place is horrible. The service can be good, but can be real crappy. They did not serve me what I ordered, but I told them to take it off of my check- they told me that they wont because they served it to me. They served me substandard fish that wasnt even what I ordered and pretended that it was just a ""different color fish."" Probably old fish they found in the trash of the real sushi restaurant down the street. Never going back there again. Kabuki is good though and it is close by.
Pros
+ uhhhh not getting kicked in the nads
Cons
- Getting served old Sushi

Amazing restaurant, tucked away in the corner of the Town Center area... I passed by it probably a thousand times before i ever even was made aware of its existence. It is one of the best Japanese restaurants I have been to and it doesn't cost an arm and a leg to go to. If you are ever in the area I would highly recommend you stopping by this restaurant.
Pros
+ fast, great food, excellent service, good location
Cons
- it is kind of small, but even when it is busy there doesnt usually seem to be a problem with getting a table

This place has great food for great prices! The sushi is always half-off and unlike most Japanese restaurants, you leave feeling full. Plus if you join their email club you get $10 off coupons every few weeks. And for us vegetarians out there, there are definitely a lot of options! (hint for veggies: if you want a roll in a combination, you can ask for the California roll without crab meat)
Pros

- none!

My co-worker & I have been going their for years, sure their food is good..... but last week, we found a cricket in their sashimi salad. The sad thing was that the manager didn't apologize, comp us for next meal or something........ they are not the best as in customer service.....
Every time you walk in they yell welcome in Japanese. They also bring out a small dish of soy beans. I've seen people dip them in soy sauce (not a fan). I'm not much of sushi person, but my friends say it's excellent. I get the spicy chicken and steak ter
Octopus Japanese Restaurant....not only do they have the best sushi but their combo meals are great. My favorite are the raw oysters garnished with smelts eggs, since it is prepared upon order they may take a bit long but worth the wait. The combo meals are so big it can be shared by two people. We have tried three other Japanese restaurants near by but nothing compares to Octopus.
PS Don't forget their deep fried green tea ice cream, it's the bomb at Octopus.
I would of given Octopus a 10 but the service is at times slow since the place is packed, especially on the weekends. \r

We went there with the buy one get one free card from entertainment book. The restaurant was nice, one of the staff members was extremely nice (she kept playing with my baby, even took him for a look around the restaurant), and the food was good. The portions were huge and when my daughter didn't like the green tea iced tea, she replaced it with another drink without charging for the tea. I liked the chicken teriyaki and the california rolls. The spicy tuna was pretty good, but I have a place that specializes in it, so no one can really beat them yet on that.

We showed up for dinner here after hearing some friends talk about how much they loved it. The sushi was fresh (not fishy tasting), and the portions were more than fair. It took a little while to place our order, and the staff seemed less than thrilled to be there, but overall, we had more food than we could finish for less money than we'd spend at most restaurants.

The food that I was served here was not near par. I was pretty disappointed. It is similar to the sushi place Kabuki, which is a franchise sushi restaurant owned by non-Japanese, so if you want something that is casual, quick eat, and just bargain, come. Their lunch menu was acceptable, but the sushi was all based on california roll and I could not pick up the sushi without using a spoon...rice literally breaks in your hands.
Pros
+ cheap, casual, americanized
Cons
- not tasteful, non-authentic, poor service

I had lunch today and had three different dishes -- totally filling and pretty tasty. Pricewise, I've seen better elsewhere, but nothing has quite looked so good and tasted just as good. I especially enjoyed the Snow Roll which has baked halibut and cream cheese. Also, I was greeted when I entered and bid a fond farewell when I left, which was definitely a nice touch.
Pros
+ presentation, atmosphere
Cons
- pricey

1/2 price sushi! every day... very good prices, exept for the fish liver sashimi. Try uni shutter there, it's worth it. They offer 20% off coupen, ask the for it for the next visit. Some times you may get in the mail.
My friend and I have made this our sushi place. We have never (in NYC, Chicago, or LA) been served such fresh and large cuts of fish for so unbelievable a price. Even if you should stray from the selection on their 50% off list, you will still find the Ichiban Roll (for example) to be a meal in and of itself. It is loaded with fresh asparaus, avacado, red red tuna, shrimp, spicy tuna inside ... it's unreal!! And the sushi chefs are super friendly - they will make anything, anyway you like it.
If you are a die-hard sushi lover, this is the place to go. Above Sushi Dan even!! I even rate...

Fast and friendly service. I've been there several times now and the food has always been excellent. You can tell that the chefs only prepare the sushi dishes with fresh fish. Price-wise, you can't beat the 1/2 off for lunch! Also, it's very close to the AMC 16 in Burbank so after a good meal, you can go catch a movie or take a stroll around the shops or the mall. Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant! (*You gotta try the Unagi rolls---delicious!)

I was lured in last night by the 50% off sushi special they are running right now in honor of their 1st Anniversary. It was some of the best sushi I've ever had! I sat at the bar and the chef's cut it up right in front of me. Tender, flavorful, and didn't taste three days old like some places. Add in the 50% off and it was a great deal as well.
