This place is no longer there. It is now Cetanni Tratoria.
I like this place.
Great food. Sad to see them closed. At least that's what I was told by an employee a few weeks ago. (done by early December)
Love this place!!!
5 star
I've been eating here for years - first enjoying the (no longer available) pizza, then going crazy for the best Philly cheeses teas around. They do the peppers right, not just some bell peppers but a blend of types, in mild, medium and mofo (!) hot. I now live 20 miles away, but still hit Burbank as often as I can for this amazing sandwich.

This is a great place if you a fan of great Philadelphia style food. Being originally from the land of brotherly love, I always enjoy going back there once a year to visit the family and enjoy the city and the food. I have always been a fan of hoagies and cheese steaks. Its hard to find a place that can serve good hoagie or a cheesesteak, and this place has found the right combination of...
Beat cheese steaks & fries in CA!! :)
I eat in the place last night the cheese steaks were small greasy and watched the lakers game. I also order a hoagie to go still hunger from the small cheese steak I open my hoagie!! And to my surprise; I had hoagie made with on slice of meat. What hoagie is made with one slice of meat and no cheese? In Phila or LA. Bring this to their attention I was told the order for the dell meat was not complete for the day? Never again
It is a great place to watch football and eat cheese steak. The steak is very delicious. They also have beer too. I usually go Cheese Steak every two weeks. They have great costumer service. The tables are always clean and they bring the food to you. Sometimes the line is a little bit long. However, when you start eating your steak you will definitely want to come back.
I have been to South Street several times, I really enjoy their cheese steak and garlic wings. However, I think I am done. each time I have gone I have put up with the uncaring, rude behavior of the staff because the food is so tasty. But this last time was enough, clearly they do not care to serve food...
I am new to the area and found this place driving around. They have decent cheesesteaks better then most places but not the best by far. Not a lot of food for the money but the lunch specials are well priced. It cures a craving when until I find someplace better.
I grew up in New Jersey and these are BY FAR the best cheesesteaks I've ever had since I moved to LA/Burbank in 98. I like to add the mo-fo (hot) peppers. They're not listed on the menu. And I never leave without a mango italian ice. that stuff is unreal too.
Great lunch spot in Burbank! Tasty pizza and sandwiches, good prices, and fast service. I have picked up many sandwiches to go.
This is the best place to get Philadelpia style food, they even import food from Philly; such as the Amarosa rolls, the tasty cakes, and sof...
have finally discovered South Street. Yum, both times now I've had the cheesesteak with onions, mushroom and bell peppers. This is a huge sandwich! I've never been to Philly, but I've had other sandwiches here in...
The food!!! It's the best Philly Steak I've ever had short of Philly. I was in for lunch and the atmosphere was very pleasant (watched ESPN and could hear the TV). Clean, served quickly and not rushed at all. This is a great place with locations in Burbank, Westwood and DODGER STADIUM. YOU MUST TRY THIS PLACE IF YOU LIKE GOOD FOOD!!!!
Pros
+ Exceptional!
Cons
- None I can think of.
The best cheesesteak I have ever had.great service and love being able to watch any sports game.just ask and they will put it on for you.
Waited 40 minutes for 1 to-go sandwich and it was not nearly worth the wait. Meat had a "refrigerator" taste. Also horrible service and attitude from staff
I have been there a couple times and always had a great cheese steak every time and I was there yesterday for there karaoke night and it was so much fun, the manager and staff their is really fun people and I would tell all my family and friends to go to South Street for a great Cheese Steak and not to go to that other place right around the corner that serves fake cheese steaks
Pros
+ Great food great service family karaoke
Cons
- at lunch the food takes a while to get, but well worth the wait
I was invited to South Street for a Girl's Night Out where I enjoyed an inexpensive night out. I am planning to go back for a Family Fun Ni...
VERY GOOD CHEESESTEAK! I love the Philly with Sweet Peppers and Spicy! Best I have found in ther area if not in LA! A+++
This place is right by Olive park and they sell pizza, sandwiches, french fries, onion rings and more. I go with my softball team and we ha...
A pretty solid cheesesteak -- not the best in Socal (I think that distinction goes to Philly's Best), but certainly good enough if you're in the mood for Philadelphia's gift to heart surgeons. Tends to be heavy on the...
I went during lunch hour on a Friday and wasn't packed..probably because of the rainy day. I am from Philly originally and I was happy with the cheesesteak that I ordered. It was a bit pricey for cheesesteak but not outrageous. The food came up fast and and the server was helpful. I felt right at home being back in Philly!!!! GO EAGLES!!!!! Parking isnt the greastest due to its location but its defintely worth the trip. I am putting South Street on my return trip list.
Pros
+ Food(good selection),Memorabilia
Cons
- Parking,Pricey
The sandwiches are very good! Salads not bad. Good portions. However, the service is terrible! One out of every three times I go there, they screw up someones order. The food is worth it though! There will be a line out the door during lunch time and the food takes longer than it should, be patient, its worth the wait!
I have been to South Side about 6 or 7 times total and have experienced different levels of service with one thing that always holds steady, the tasty Cheesesteak sandwich!! It may be slightly over priced by a dollar or two but if you get the combo it is a very good deal!! My sandwiches have always come out hot and tasty so I feel the price is ok with me!! The service is OK at best but that is also true Philly ambiance which you can not get to many places!! Once they stayed open an extra 45 minutes so we could celebrate my buddys birthday and I thought that was awesome!! Thanks again South...
I finally decided to check this place out. After having moved here from Philly several years ago I admit I was really missing a good Cheesesteak, on that Amoroso bread, tastykakes, n' pretzels too of course. All of which South Street has on their menu. The bread was okay. The sandwich was small, over priced and they need to learn how to take an order. Nothing should go on a cheesesteak that you didn't ask for. Hi I didn't ask for Onions, and I certainly didn't ask for half cooked onions. I have to say that the restaurant itself looks great, I love all the Philly sports stuff, they even have...
I really craved a Philly cheese steak today, so I went to South Street to try one of their best. It was like expecting to score but getting kissed by your sister. These guys didn't leave Philly, they were lead out of town by the mayor. The sandwich was 70% bread, 20% meat and 10% onion. A vegan could eat this and not feel guilty. Cheese? what cheese. Employees were Burbank H.S. drop outs who couldn't even make the correct change. I was told I could have ordered extra meat (making it around $11 w/tax). With shrooms and cheese, the tab would have equaled a Prime Rib with salad,...
The BEST Philly CHEESESTEAK, the only place in LA: South Street has the best Philly Cheesesteak, and I think is the best place we can get a Philly Cheesesteak in LA, and I think the closests we can get to Philly, if you...
I've been to this place a few times and this was the last. We had 3 different orders at our table. We had to wait 20 minutes to talk to the cashier while the girl in front of us flirted with him. The first two orders came ok. They forgot my caesar salad altogether. It took 20 minutes until we complained and then at least 20 minutes for them to make it. A 40 minute wait for a half caesar salad is horrendous. They weren't very nice about it either and I eventually took it to go as the rest of my party was finished.
The fries were soggy, the pizza was bland. The only thing here worth...
If you're looking for horrid service and the most disgusting food ever, go here. We went today and our sandwiches were cold, fries were burnt & the cashier was unfriendly. This was our 2nd and last trip to this store. They didn't even toast the bread. A sham.
Pros
+ Near the zoo
Cons
- Rude service, Horrid food, Terrible decor
A little bit of Philly in Burbank: If you grew up in Philly (or close by, like I did) you have to go to South Street In Burbank. They fly in Amoroso's rolls par-baked and finish them when they make your sandwich. The steak,...
Great cheesesteaks!: I have never been to Philly but I really love these chicken cheesesteaks! They also have a lots of TVs with sports going all the time. We keep coming back for more....

A fleeting memory is all it...
