Wokcano Cafe. 1 was here. Sushi Restaurant
Wokcano Caf is a food destination that serves a variety of appetizers, salads and desserts. Its menu includes onion pancakes, egg rolls, vegetable tempuras, baked mussels and garlic chicken wings. The restaurant offers salmon, shrimp, red snapper and eel sushi. It also serves a range of beef, chicken and seafood dishes. The restaurant s menu features saut ed vegetables, chicken dumplings,...
Wokcano offers sushi and Japanese dishes with friendly serve. Try the Crab Wonton, Crispy Albacore Sushi Roll and Spicy Garlic Chicken. The restaurant also has a nice selection of wines so you can find the perfect drink for your meal.
Wokano has good Japanese and Chinese food in a nice roomy restaurant. There is a lot of stone--even a waterfall--in its large space. You don't feel crowded at all. I've always had a lot of good experiences with the food and service. Generally, I go for the sushi and sashimi. Parking is a little problematic since Wokano is in downtown Burbank, but there is an hour free on the streets and a few nearby lots.
Kinda like PF Changs; generic California Asian stuff. The seaweed salad is perfect, and well-portioned, too. If you can't get enough of the baked scallops on the typical baked scallop sushi roll, then try the Dynamite appetizer. The hot & sour soup is also pretty good. Other than that, I've often had the Garlic Shrimp entree, which isn't bad, but was nothing to write home about. Brown or white rice available on request. There's also a back room for parties or such that seats about 20, I think.
There's sushi, Chinese fare, sangria, oh my! at this "something-for-everyone" Asian-fusion "standby" favored by "business lunch" types, happy-hour fans and "starving college students" who are "grateful" for the "quirky" but "tasty" dishes, "interesting drinks" and "comfortable", "upscale" setting; despite the occasional "disappearing" server and "shocking" noise level, most agree the package is...
Wokcano has evolved from a single Los Angeles location to a six-restaurant Southern California chain serving pan-Asian cuisine and sushi. Start with the tuna truffle pizza or Malaysian-style clams with basil and a black bean ginger sauce. Highlights from larger plates include the black pepper beef mignon and the honey walnut shrimp. The volcano roll is a flavorful combination of shrimp tempura...
Wouldn’t have been my first choice, but this place was awesome. At the end of the main drag in downtown Burbank.
Our server was knowledgeable and friendly. Food was amazingly fresh and delicious. Little pricey but you get what you pay for. It was really...great.
Our trip to Wokcano tuned into ER visit for our son. The sushi was badly prepared and the first bite our 19 year old son took a fish bone was lodged in his throat. The staff literally had no idea what to do to help...us. We called 911, staff didn't even wait with us out front of the restaurant. When we tried to call management the next day to report the incident no one would take the call and...

A large variety of Asian cuisine. We really enjoyed the happy hour drinks and appetizer selections. We will definitely eat here again.
We had a late dinner. The staff was very friendly. We didn't have to wait to long to get seated. It is outdoor seating only. It will be nice when you can eat inside cause it was cold at 9pm.
The food was very good!...My picky eater was very happy!
The noodles and fried rice was delicious!
We had a late dinner. The staff was very friendly. We didn't have to wait to long to get seated. It ...
The waitresses don't want to give customers happy hour menus I think that is the restaurants policy. Prices have gone up 200 percent in the last 3 year's. Service was abysmal and food did not come out at the correct tempature .Fake crab third rate...fish served. Flys on food don't bother .
We ordered on Sunday night from this place for delivery, phone person was very nice , we got beef with broccoli, sweet and sour pork, calamari, everything was excellent, my only complaint is...
I ordered the two most plain dishes: garlic noodles and garden salad order was placed for pickup thru chownow via yelp when i got home, to my horror, the garlic noodles looked like they were...
Wokcano food is delicious, that goes without saying! Their customer service is also excellent. I ordered online and chose the wrong location. When I went to the restaurant in my area, they told me...
This is my go to Chinese fusion craving! It is located on the corner with public parking right in the back that most people miss or think is residential. This location has a very clean and...
After nearly 3 months of being locked at home, I was losing my mind and I just couldn't wait to eat out. Luckily I heard that Wokcano had recently opened up for dine in service. I called to...
A great experience with teens.
We walked here from our hotel on the recommendation of our front desk. It was New Year’s Day so it was busy. We were sat within 15 minutes. The Moscow mule w Titos was excellent.
You should know that most...dishes are family style meals. However our 15 year old boys managed to eat most of the family plate themselves. We ordered the edamame to start. The moms...
Wokcano is an Asian fusion restaurant with plenty of options for lunch or dinner. In addition to restaurant seating, the establishment also has a bar with happy hour specials, along with lunch specials in the dining room.
Checked out Wokcano during their (early) happy hour. Liked the vibe and the friendly, welcoming bartender and the happy hour prices. Enjoyed the late night sushi roll, but surprised it came warm. Crispy walnut shrimp were also good. Wasn't too impressed with the sushi portion...of the menu.
Our family recently visited downtown Burbank and wanted some sushi so decided to try this restaurant with the promenade facade at the corner. We should have heeded the warning of not one, not two but three “Help Wanted” posters in the front window including “Sushi...Chef”. We were seated and immediately noticed the very loud sounds in the dining room of clanging dishes and overall sounds of...
We had to wait a bit for a table in the bar at happy hour but once we sat down you would have thought we were the only people on the restaurant. The service and food were outstanding and delicious. Everything on the menu is...a winner selection!
We were craving sushi, so this was a logical stop. We got seated and were waiting on the server, she seemed to be very preoccupied and distracted. She came and got us drinks, then disappeared, we had to call her to order food, tired of...waiting on her to get us more soy sauce and two sets of silverware and had to 'borrow' it from an empty table behind. Kinda disappointing service.
...
We stopped in here for late night dinner and were not disappointed. The dining room was closed but the bar had tables and a happy hour menu that started at 10pm.
We ordered Miso Soup, edamame, and sushi, all were delicious, the staff was great,
We tried a new place to us. Woke is an Asian fusion type restaurant. They have sushi options, a full bar and good variety on the menu. Lunch menu provides large portions I enjoyed my Black peppered filet mignon not expensive and delicious. The spicy...garlic edamame pretty good also. The chicken curry was ok not outstanding. Service was excellent. Public parking is confusing there is a public...
After bible study, our group came to Wockano for dinner. The food was remarkable and we enjoyed the atmosphere very much. However, it was our server Lauren who made this a night to remember. Lauren was friendly and professional. She anticipated our needs and superseded our expectations. She made us feel taken care of and she showed genuine interest in our experience. Because of Lauren, we...
HIGHLY overpriced sake (my $32 bottle of Kikasui is only NINE BUCKS at my local sushi haunt), average sushi. Service was adequate. Probably would not go back, with other choices in the area.
My friends and I come here all the time for birthdays and farewell lunches. It’s a great place with excellent service. Ask for Jennie she’s the best!
Love this place but gave us heartburn. Everyone was friendly!
Great food and great service. Go if you want great sushi.
Good food as always. Loved that they showed us available desserts. The spicy crabmeat tempura roll is a longtime fave.
On 12/26/2018 Restaurant was Not busey At all...The young Man at the Host check in was so disorganized and unfriendly as unfestive with a horrible personality very unpleasant as unprofessional.
We arrived 10min early to our reservation and he told us he’d seat us when the waitress was not stressed...???? Then finally after complaining along with others waiting complaining we got seated 25min...
Made last minute reservations!! Got seated and got our order to perfection!!
Met several friends for drinks and food. Had high expectations after reading menu. Service was good, food was mediocre. Not bad, but not great. Loved the location, parked by AMC Theatre and walked enjoying street musicians. Loved decor, can’t highly recommend food though.
I had three non English speaking members of our party of 6 and the waiter was not very patient as we had to translate to get their selection. After delivering the several appetizers he finally came back to the table (30 minutes later) as we finished and in rude manor asked if we were ordering dinner. This was uncalled for and is unacceptable. I have been coming to this facility for years...
The bartenders was very attentive even though we were at a table. The drinks great were great and the food was delicious. I little pricy but you get plenty of food. Overall strongly recommend.
We enjoyed better Chinese than most places. Food was delicious, nicely prepared and presented. Better, by far, than most Chinese we have had. Atmosphere was busy and a bit noisy, but that is because many people were enjoying the food and the evening.
I am a teacher and have a set lunch time. I depend on a restaurants time frame be accurate. I ordered for delivery. Lunch is over and I still have not received my food. I called to check on my...
Wokcano has a purpose in life. At least in this location. My friends decided to hit up the bar part of Wokcano than our usual Story Tavern and it wasn't a bad spot to grab some grub and drinks...
The sushi is decent. Haven't tried anything else. The ambience/ decor are nice. Great place for a date night. Bar/ drinks available not to mention you and your date can walk around and let for...
Black pepper filet mignon stir fry is the best!! Great flavor and depth to the dish. Hands down my fave late night Chinese food in all of Los Angeles. My favorite happy hour menu items are as...
Came here after shopping at IKEA. You can park in the free structure on orange view, unless you find street parking. This part of Burbank has a multitude of great places to eat all concentrated in one area so there are many options. I picked wokcano because they were located on the quiet end of the street. Also, they have a happy hour from 5-7p with many options. I recommend the calamari,...
I love coming here for happy hour. The food can be very overpriced, depending on what you order and why you come here. I highly recommend coming during happy hour, where you can sample a bunch of...
Asian fare as good as it gets. Huge bar, great for happy hours or watching any sporting event. Service is a little slow when crowded in the bar. The dining rooms (yes rooms) are spacious. The back room has an open kitchen, which is cool if you've never seen the workings of your chef. Everything on the menu has been delicious both for myself and everyone in my party. Have been there several...
Really budget friendly happy hour - all day Monday! They have great spicy tuna on crispy rice and strong sangria. Really fun for a low key date night.
Amazing food! Wide variety!!! Great staff!! Best cuts of meat at any Asian restaurant in the Burbank area.
Wokano is an Asian fusion restaurant. It's very big spacious and beautiful, great for dinner with large groups but still intimate enough for a date. They have everything from chinese favorites to sushi and happy hour that i haven't tried yet but the deals look great and people say is really good. The service is friendly - I'll be back for happy hour
Food was awesome. I order soup and garlic noodles with chicken.
The sauce was a bit too heavy on the vinegar. The steamed wontons were all stuck together. More like a wonton blob. Good flavor and the correct amount of utensils and condiments.
You have to love a spot that has a happy hour from 10PM- closing. This is a great spot in Burbank that you can walk to and get some great late night food and drink. They have a great Wokcano Sweet & Sour Pork which has Crispy Chunks of Premium Pork Belly with Bell Peppers, Onions, & Pineapple in Wokcano's Sweet & Sour Sauce or Korean style short ribs which are Sliced Bone-In Short Ribs w/...
Fast delivery and good quality sushi.
It's aaammmaaazzzing! Best sushi in burbank!
Pretty good! Expensive, but sushi always is. I LOVED the crispy rice with spicy tuna...probably one of the best I've had. The crab wontons, Party All Night Roll, and crab hand roll wasn't bad at all...not the best, but pretty delicious. :)
For Asian food this place is very chain like. But then again it's a chain. They have a happy hour I've gone to a few times. You can't beat $3 goyza rolls and pork ribs!
Pretty good food, but very expensive.
Wokcano's happy hour is AMAZING. Come here for the late night happy hour, starting at 10pm, and get half off drinks and some delicious appetizers (try the chicken skewers). The food is Asian fusion and the atmosphere is very romantic - perfect for a date night!
The food isn't terrible. You won't instantly regret what you order by any stretch. It's just that you can do so much better. You can do so much better even in Burbank.
...
Bad Food. We meant to go to The Backhouse for lunch, we went to Wokcano instead because The Backhouse stops serving lunch. These two joints are just one place with two entrances and names.
They deliver on good time and their food is satifying.
Tasty food, but far too expensive.
The sashimi is delicious - my favorites are the seared ahi tuna and the hamachi sashimi. Both with a side of spicy cabbage -- excellent
The order was great. They were very fast with the delivery and the driver was very courteous.
Delicious... super fast and priced just right! We'll definitely be ordering from them soon. :)
The food arrived 20 mins before the scheduled time which was awesome. Everything was very fresh and arrived hot. The fried rice had a gingery flavor, it was delicious. The sushi was also very good compared to most places locally, I recommend.
Wokcano continued that winning streak with a phenomenal Happy Hour featuring a food menu broken down into Appetizers (from $2.99-$6.99), Sushi and Sashimi (from $3-$7.99), and Sushi Rolls (from $3.99-$6.99). On top of that, Wokcano features menu items from The Backhouse – its neighbor and sister restaurant offering open-fire cooking known as Yakitori with affordable small plates and skewers.

Be aware! Under the Grubhub discriptions of the dishes it states that rice soup and salad is included. So, I did not order at the end because the menu says it's included.
When I called the store to talk about it the hostess treated my communication like I was an annoying fly. And I was not even upset. Thank goodness for the manager having an IQ and a sense of professionalism. Yay Jose!

The best sushi I've had in the LA area. Delicious beyond belief. Their takeout is yummy, though I will say, it is the nature of rice noodles to not travel well, so pad thai is never as good in takeout as it is in the restaurant. The other noodle dishes are fantastic though. You'll love them from the first bite and be addicted before you realize what happened.
Loved the atmosphere and the mood of the place. I always order the orange chicken because I love the way the cook it. Overall it is an enjoyable experience.
Chow Mein is the best dish they have on the menu. A little pricey but worth it. I love coming here every time I have the opportunity.
Great Food, Came here the other day with my friends and loved the spicy tuna roll. Overall great place.
Must say the Wokcano makes one of the best miso soups I have ever had. Every time I come with my friends we are all greeted with great service! Thumbs Up!
Great place to go with your friends or a date. The mood of the place is what makes Wokcano so amazing and the bar is very fun!
Chow Mein is one of the best dishes they have on the menu. A little pricey but worth it.
Long line but totally worth it. Me and my friends come here at least once a week to order. Got to say my favorite is the steak burrito.
Orange Chicken & Fortune Cookies. The Orange Chicken is so crispy and saucy and goes perfect on their perfectly cooked rice. Also, the Fortune Cookies have been dipped in white chocolate -- wow!
Overrated and underwhelming! Wokcano used to be cool, but the owners have gotten cheap. The music is too loud to hear conversation just across the table. The food is adequate but not fantastic. The wait staff is not very pleasant and look like they dislike being there. And to top it off, they no longer serve fortune cookies at all, after discontinuing the cool treat of chocolate dipped ones. It...
This place was great. We walked in for lunch on a Friday and was served very quickly. I ordered a spicy tuna roll an the double Kung Pao chicken with shrimp. The tuna roll was run of the mill but very fresh if not a little sloppy. Good flavor though. The double Kung pao was very good with just enough heat. The portions are very generous especially seeing how a side salad is served before hand....
Yes, it is a bit pricy, but it is 200% worth it!! :D this is the best sushi place ever! I've tried quite a few and nothing compares to this! lemonade GREAT! philadelphia roll GREAT! wonton soup GREAT young chow fried rice GREAT! garlic chicken GREAT! and mochi ice cream balls GREAT!
Wokano is a nice looking restaurant with a mini waterfall as you walk inside. There is a lot of space both for large groups and small tables. The food is always fresh and tasty, but the cuisine is decidedly straddling Japanese and Chinese. Personally, I think that the Japanese is a little stronger and better than the Japanese at Wokcano. There is a lot of nearby parking on San Fernando and...
I like this place for dinner. I like to order their specialty dishes - The dipping sauces complement the flavor of the dishes. You wont be disappointed with any thing you try.
I have only eaten at this restaurant once, but I did like the food. They have Chinese and Sushi ( I don't eat Sushi but I did eat Chinese and it was good. They also serve late night dinners. I ate dinner there at 11pm after i had gone to the movies in Burbank !
OK I dream about this place and their spicy tuna hand rolls! YUM! We have never eaten in the restaurant, but we and our neighbors order from them A LOT! They are quite pricey in their items, but it is soooo tasty!PROS: Super FoodCONS: Pricey
So the name sounds funny, but the food is very, very good. Their portions could be a little bigger, but every bite has taste. I'm not a fan of sushi, but this place can do it with mix of Chinese and Japanese flavors. I recommend their Sashimi Salad, Pad Thai and Chicken flavored dishes. I also recommend you order an appetizer because you won't fill up on their salads. Remember, in Asia, they...
If you like Asian food, then this is the place for you. You can choose from Chinese, Thai, Japanese and possibly Korean. I think this place is a great place to bring a date if you don't mind the higher price. You're paying more for the decor/ambience here. Nice lighting, somewhat romantic. If you want cheaper price Japanese sushi, Kabuki is just down the street which is more affordable but...
I can't complain too much about this place. The sushi was really good, the atmophere was romantic, and it wasn't too busy for a friday night. However, be aware that the spicy sushi platter seems to be exactly the same as the regular sushi platter only with little dots of hot sauce on top. I felt a little cheated since the spicy platter was $2 more, and I could buy my own bottle of hot sauce for...
Living in Burbank Village Walk since a year I haven't try Wockano before and finally went there last week. The stuff was really friendly and polite (nice hostess and friendly server), the decoration is beautiful ( specially the candle at night create a nice atmosphere) but i have been very disappointed with the food. We had a soup who was good, then some sushi (the simple one with a piece of...
This place has good food, but it's a bit overpriced. I think your paying for the atmosphere, which is great. The other good thing is that the are open late. I think until 4am on weekends and 2am on weekdays.
I went to Wokcano in Burbank with my friend from the area who had raved about the atmosphere. I see what she meant...it's beautiful inside and I loved the sleek decor, very modern. Service was ok, great at the bar for my pre-meal cocktail...I forgot the bartender's name but she makes a really mean lychee martini. I would say it's pricey for an everyday lunch, but totally reasonable for...
Don't bother doing take out... Biggest waste of cash EVER!
Food is pretty good. Far better than a place like PF Changs...interesting drink specials that work great with the Asian theme. I had a ginger vodka martini that was a good complement to my food.
Samantha is the best!
I only gave this place 1 star, for decor. I suppose it could have potential if they restaffed (especially the mgmt). My husband and I came here last week for the first time, after hearing mixed opinions from friends. We went to the bar for dinner and drinks. WORST BARTENDER EVER. Our $10 martinis were filled halfway. I swear. Uninterested, with zero personality, she was also just downright...
I'm quite the big sushi fan, and this place had me dazzled with the remarkable tastes and artistic work. The fish was fresh, and the number of unique rolls were enough to warrant me coming back many times. Of course I was with someone who had been there before, and she had done most of the ordering (therefore assuming she ordered the good stuff). I didn't try much else besides the sushi since...
Valley location of the popular Asian eatery serves up traditional favorites in a chic, Far Eastern-inspired setting.
Wokcano was fabulous!! The interior was beautiful: creating an inviting atmosphere. Service was great and the sushi was fresh. And even if you don't like sushi, it's a fusion restaurant that also offers great Chinese food. Not to mention, it has a huge lounge area with a full bar!! :D I had a great time and would definitely go back again. I highly recommend this place to everyone!
This was one of the few places open on July 4th. I wasn't expecting anything too great seeing how it was an asian restaurant in the middle of Burbank. I was VERY surprised! I tried the crispy orange chicken, honey walnut shrimp and fried rice. All were very delicious and just as good as the food at an authentic chinese restaurant. Our hostess was very courteous. Our waitress was just okay but...
It's amazing how many new places are popping up in Burbank, especially with the new "no-Smoking ordinance" in place. We went to Wokcano for lunch. The food was good, but not memorable, the service was horrible (the waitress was nice enough, but the way she moved was indicative of a person who just woke up or sleepwalking). We went at lunchtime so skipped the cocktails and opted for beer...
Great food and Great services: We love the food and the service is great.
We can't wait to go back: The Korean Style Short Ribs are so juicy and tender, Orange Chicken is great too.
TERRIBLE SERVICE: If you are looking for a fun place to eat & drink after work, this is DEFINITLEY not the place. The staff was down right rude to us, eventhough we were a large group spending hoards of money. Basically,...
Great food, poor service: The ambiance of the restaurant was great, as long as the food. One recommendation of the place, make sure you don't get claire as the the waitress. She was so rude, and waited by our table for us...
Good fresh sushi, Nice varied fusion asian dishes: Pro: Food is really good, very flavorful and aromatic.
Great new place in Burbank!: We recently visited Wokcano and had a great time. The food was delicious and the menu had a wide variety of different Asian selections. The aromatic shrimp is a "must have.". After dinner...
I am glad it came to Burbank!: Though I live in a condo above the restaurant in downtown Burbank, I did not visit the place after it was open for a few weeks until my co-worker told me I should try it out. What a place! Cute...
Hip and Hot: We had a really good time there last Saturday night. The ambience was hip, the drinks were hot, and the bartender Dan very funny. The Kungpao chicken and Pad Thai we ordered were very good and the portions...
Never going back: Wokcano looked like a decent restaurant, from its interior to its exterior... but when it comes to the food you might as well go down the street to Kabuki and get the same type of sushi for half the...

Smart and sophisticated Chinese food is what Wokcano offers. Here, you will have the chance to enjoy tender rice and robust vegetables complimented by sauces that can be described as garlicky and gingery. This is good quality Chinese food that will live up to its hype and will have your entire family arguing over who gets the last bit of moo shoo pork. Since it can be delivered to your door,...
